Donegal’s home-heating oil prices continue to trickle downwards

The price of home-heating oil continues to trickle downwards in the right direction.

According to www.cheapestoil.ie, the price of 1,000 litres of oil continues to drop in a number of outlets across Donegal.

Prices began dropping from an all-time high two months ago.

And while consumers say they still have a long way to go, the prices are beginning to come down.

Many are holding off to refill their tanks ahead of winter with the weather forecast predicting a fine August.

At the start of July, rising fuel prices edged 1,000 litres of home heating oil towards the €1,500 price

Whoriskey Oil were asking €1,470 for 1,000 litres, A&N Fuels were charging €1,459 while O’Donnell Fuels is slightly cheaper at €1,395 for the same amount.

Swilly Fuels was coming in at one of the cheapest at €1,389 per 1,000 litres.

However, today’s price check shows a drop in the price of 1,000 litres.

A & N Fuels are now pricing 1,000 litres at €1,230, Whoriskeys Oil is also at €1,230, Coyle Fuels is at €1,230 also while in south Donegal Mr Oilman is quoting €1,250 for 1,000 litres.

Swilly Fuels are once again one of the keenest prices at €1,219 for 1,000 litres.
