Ray camping weekend back by popular demand!

The Ray Community Group are running another camping weekend on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th of August, due to popular demand.

Both nights are for families, with the option of staying for one night or the whole weekend.

There will be fun games and activities for children, karaoke, as well as a nature walk with Aengus Kennedy from Nature North West on Saturday evening.

“Due to the success of our last camping weekend in July, we have decided to run another camping weekend before the end of summer,” said Declan Meehan, Chairperson of Ray Community Group.

“We received fantastic feedback from everyone who joined us last month, particularly around how affordable and good value the camping event was for families with children.”

The Ray Community Group were allocated funding earlier this year from the Sports Capital Fund for a state of the art new Astro Pitch at the centre. However, due to the cost of building materials increasing the final cost of the project is now coming in at around €70,000 above the allocated grant. All funds raised from the camping weekend will go towards the Astro Pitch and Walking Track fund.

Tickets are just €50 per pitch per night up to a group of 5. This price includes the BBQ and the activities.

For more information about the weekend or to book, you can find Ray Community Centre on Facebook or call Syria on 0872877900.
