Donegal Youth Service seeking new volunteers

Donegal Youth Service is seeking volunteers to assist in youth provision across their 27 Youth Clubs in Donegal and at their Letterkenny headquarters.

Many clubs and community centres were forced to close their doors during the pandemic, which led DYS to change how they worked, with 1-1, small groups, outdoor work and online work to maintain solid contact with young people.

Due to increased levels of anxiety, loss of social circles and a fear of Covid-19, there is a huge cohort of young people who would benefit from attending a local youth club to meet, socialise and hang out.

Although some volunteers have stayed at DYS, some others took stock and reconfigured their commitments and decided to move on to other ventures.

DYS are seeking assistance in helping youth clubs reopen or work closely with the clubs that have stayed the pace through the past 3 years.

Full training will be made available and, in order to remain compliant with Children First, Garda Vetting will be a requirement.

If you are over the age of 18 and have a few hours a week to spare, please contact charlenelogue@donegalyouthservice.ie or ring 0863817959.
