Andrew McGinley has announced that he wants to divorce his wife after the death of their three children.

Andrew’s wife Deirdre Morley smothered their three children Conor McGinley, Darragh McGinley and Carla McGinley in January 2020.  She was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity.

Mr McGinley, whose family is from Donegal, says he has decided to end his marriage to Deirdre who is currently in Dublin’s Central Mental Hospital.

Mr McGinley told newspapers on Wednesday that he may have to sell his home if that is contested during the proceedings.

He also said that Deirdre has refused to speak with her husband despite him contacting her.
