The hot temperature weather warning has been extended until Monday morning as Donegal encounters its warmest weekend of the year.
A status yellow weather warning has been issued nationwide, with highs of 27-29C forecast in all counties. Donegal may escape the highest temperatures, according to the alert.
Alert message from Met Eireann: “Very warm or hot on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with maximum temperatures generally of 27 to 30 degrees and locally higher.
“Warm overnight with minimum temperatures generally around 15 degrees in many areas. Temperatures may not be as high in coastal areas due to sea breezes, particularly in the northwest.”
