Collaboration between business and community has always been part of life throughout Ireland and never more so than within the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal.
Inishowen Co-Op have recently been recognised for their great community support by being shortlisted for a Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Award 2022.
The Co-Op is shortlisted in the “Partnership with Charity – Large Indigenous Company” sector in recognition for their work and support of local award winning social enterprise Spraoi Agus Spórt.
Others shortlisted in the category include prestigious companies such as A&L Goodbody, KPMG, AIB and Trigon Hotels.
Inishowen Co-Op were the only Donegal company shortlisted in the overall awards. The organisation stepped forward as one of the primary sponsors in 2021 of the new FabLab creative workspace provided by the Carndonagh based social enterprise Spraoi agus Spórt.
Co-founder and CEO Helen Nolan, said: “We are delighted that the team in Inishowen Co-Op are being recognised for their support of the work that we do. As two very progressive organisations in the region, their continued support offers inclusive opportunities that are aligned to the needs of our community.”
The Sustainable Business Impact Awards showcase best practice in sustainable business development and social responsibility undertaken by companies of all sizes across Ireland. The UN Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of these Awards, celebrating sustainable business practices and championing Chambers Ireland’s alignment with the Goals.
