For many years, graduates from Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal’s MA in Accounting have progressed to exciting careers in the accounting and finance industry.

The level 9 MA in Accounting at ATU Donegal provides postgraduate education and training at the forefront of accounting and accounting-related practice.

With generous exemptions from ACCA, CPA, CAI, and CIMA, this innovative Masters programme is highly successful and has been developed in close collaboration with the professional accounting bodies.

The reputation of the MA in Accounting programme at ATU Donegal attracts students from all over Ireland and from across the globe, with many graduates progressing to rewarding careers with the ‘Big 4’ employers.

Patrick McGhee, studied the MA in Accounting in 2017 and is an example of one of the many graduates from the programme that has gone on to career success. Patrick is an Assistant Manager with Deloitte Ireland and attributes his time at ATU Donegal as having developed the foundation he needed to excel in his chosen career.

As a graduate of both the undergraduate and the MA in Accounting at ATU Donegal, Patrick commented “My time at ATU Donegal helped me progress my career. I studied both the undergraduate accountancy degree and MA in accounting at ATU Donegal and I found both programmes rewarding as they are designed to prepare you for a career in accounting. ATU Donegal’s MA in Accounting has a fantastic reputation, several colleagues in Deloitte studied Accounting at ATU Donegal. I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying the MA in Accounting at ATU Donegal.”

The MA in Accounting includes a two-month industry placement and has an excellent employment record which means graduates from the programme can look forward to securing opportunities in key accounting roles in multinational organisations and practices.

Sean Strain, Partner in Hogan Associates and Jennifer Harrison, owner of Jennifer Harrison Chartered Accountants, both agreed that by completing the MA in Accounting prepared them, not only to pass their professional exams but it equipped them with the skills to progress in their careers.
