After an absence of two long years, Seán MacCumhaills GAA Club are delighted to announce the return of their Annual Fun Weekend commencing tomorrow (Thursday 25th of August).
The Annual 5k is the first event tomorrow, with the Golf Classic on Friday and then the Fun Day at the club on Saturday.
The theme of the Fun Weekend this year is again focusing on and emphasising the importance of community and the event is free of charge and is open to club members and non-members alike and has proven to be a fantastic event for kids of all ages in 2018 and 2019!
On entry to the event the first 150 children will receive a free gift. What promises to be a great weekend kicks off on Thursday evening with the Club’s Annual 5k at 7.30pm.
Registration takes place from 6.30pm with the Kid’s Races (age 12, 14, 16s) starting at 5.00pm. The Golf classic then takes place on Friday at Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club and then the main event on the Saturday at the club.
Start time for the fun day on Saturday is 12.00pm and finishes at 4.00pm. There will be an array of attractions, including “Beat the Buzzer”, operation, jenga, kerplunk, snakes and ladders, Cyclone, Katriona McNamee School of Dancing, ‘Soak the Coach, GAA Games, mini vehicles, hurling and football skills, arts and crafts, face painting and novelty races.
An area specially dedicated to our younger children will again be stacked with an array of ride on toys.
Tea, refreshments and a burger stand will be available on the day and there are fantastic raffle prizes to be won also.
Stalls from O’ Reilly Sports, B&S Credit Union, Katriona McNamee, An Garda Siochana and the Civil Defense will be in attendance and much more.
The local businesses have again this year shown amazing support and there are some fantastic raffle prizes to be won on the day.
There will be traffic restrictions on the day and there will be no car parking available within the grounds.
A great weekend is in store, and we would like to see as many people as possible come along to join in the fun.
