Donations are flooding in for a young Donegal motorcyclist who suffered life-changing injuries in an accident last month.

Brendan Friel, aged 25, remains in hospital after a horrific collision involving his bike and a car outside Ramelton on 28th July.

Brendan, an enthusiastic car and motorbike man, is well known on the rally scene for his blue Nissan Micra.

He is currently in Letterkenny University Hospital and has undergone multiple surgeries to date.

An online GoFundMe fundraiser, organised by his brother, has been set up to help Brendan with his long road to recovery, including medical bills, rehabilitation and after-care costs.

Any funds left over will be donated to the first responders who helped at the scene of the accident.

So far, nearly €5,000 has been donated to the cause, out of a target of €10,000.

“We appreciate everyone’s help and well wishes and are grateful for any donations, no matter how small,” Dermot said.
