GAA Senior Championship: Four through to quarter-finals but who will join them?

Four teams are not guaranteed a quarter final spot in the Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Senior Football Championship.

Gaoth Dobhair’s comfortable 1-15 to 0-07 win over MacCumhaills in the final game of the championships today means they will join Kilcar, St.Eunans and Aodh Rua in the last eight.

The likes of Naomh Conaill and Glenswilly must make sure they kick on and get another victory if they are to be assured of joining them.

Indeed the Glenties side will have a tough task after being drawn to Gaoth Dobhair who will not do them any favours.

Glenswilly will be hoping to overcome an Ardara side who have failed to catch fire without single point form their first three games.

Killybegs still might fancy their chances with four points against a Cloughaneely side who have managed just one point.

That said, St Michael’s, Mac Cumhaills and Four Masters will also be hopeful results go their way and they squeeze through with al on three points.

Mac Cumhaills will certainly be up against it when they face the highly-fancied St Eunan’s, Glenfin won’t sit back against Four Masters while St Michael’s should have enough in the tank for St Naul’s.

Apart from those four top teams, it’s still all to play for in this year’s senior championship battle.
