A Donegal leisure centre has issued another plea for people not to park in disabled bays.
Management at the Finn Valley Leisure Centre in Stranorlar said it is “amazing” that they have to ask customers once again not to park in their disabled bays.
The centre said it is lucky to have so many people with disabilities using the facilities but asked for respect for these people by not parking in the disabled parking spaces.
A spokesperson said “It’s amazing that FVLC staff are back at the stage of having to ask customers NOT TO park in the disability parking bays and having to confront customers to move their car from the disability parking bays.
“Customers are using the excuses that their children are late for lessons or ‘I’ll only be a minute or better yet – I am a blue badge holder – yet these parents don’t have their person with a disability with them.
“At FVLC, we beg you yet again NOT TO park in the disability parking bays unless you sincerely need to and have your blue badge displayed as we are lucky to have so many people with a disability using the leisure centre – these parking bays are for them. Respect, that’s all we ask.”
