Donegal chocolatier shares bittersweet closure news

A popular Donegal chocolate maker is set to wrap up her business for an exciting new chapter.

Hannah Kelly from Letterkenny announced the end of her artisan chocolate brand Oh So Cocoa on Tuesday.

Oh So Cocoa chocolate bars and custom gifts have been growing in popularity since Hannah launched in Spring 2021. The Bristol native, who has lived in Donegal for the past 13 years, had a recipe for success with her flair for flavour, smart design and quality ingredients. In Easter 2022 Hannah raised €2,000 from the sales of a special charity ‘Hearty Smarty’ bar in aid of Heart Children Ireland.

An unmissable career opportunity has come along for Hannah, which means that she must put an end to her “beautiful business”, she said.

She told customers: “The Oh So Cocoa whirlwind has been incredible. When I started my business during lockdown I never imagined that it would take off like it did. The growth has been huge and I’ve been so grateful to every customer, both individual and corporate.

“I’ve invested so much time, energy and money in growing and developing Oh So Cocoa and have adored exploring my creative side while learning new skills, but sometimes life throws us curveballs.

“I’ve been given an amazing opportunity and so, it is with a heavy heart that Oh So Cocoa is now closed for business. I’ve been blessed with the most incredible support from customers, suppliers and my truly amazing family and friends. Thank you all so very much.

“I’m looking forward to returning to the corporate world and while I’m sad to put an end to this beautiful business, I’m so excited about what is next for me, Hannah.”
