Gardaí have urged all road users to be cautious as the new hedge cutting season starts today.

Legally, hedges may be cut between September 1st and March 1st.

“Once again, we would like to remind all road users to be mindful of this when travelling, particularly when using country roads,” a Donegal garda spokesperson said.

“There will be a visible increase in this type of large machinery in operation along the roadsides over the coming weeks. Please drive with due care and remain alert at all times.”
