The new series of Creedon’s Atlas of Ireland on RTE is heading north west this week for some special segments from Donegal.

Popular broadcaster John Creedon presents the programme which sets out to uncover the true meaning of Irish placenames.

This Sunday (RTE One, 6.30pm), John will be asking renowned musician Moya Brennan of Clannad to help unlock the secrets of the Poison Glen in the Derryveagh Mountains.

He’ll also unravel the ancient mythology that gave us Bloody Foreland and the unique placenames of stunning Donegal.

This week’s programme also visits Fermanagh, Cavan, Longford and Louth, uncovering remarkable stories that lie beneath the beautiful place names on the map of Ireland.

Creedon’s Atlas of Ireland airs at 6.30pm this Sunday on RTE One.
