End of an era for Arranmore Island householders

Friday was the end of an era for householders on Arranmore Island and The Rosses.

Yesterday, Boyle Bros Butchers did their last ever weekly door-to-door delivery run.

However, the butcher shop in Dungloe (below) will still continue its quality service.

Doalty has been doing the weekly run since 1985 and it was a great service, particularly to islanders, over the years.

This was particularly the case for those who weren’t able to leave the island.

Trends have changed over the years and most people shop at supermarkets these days.
