A weather advisory has been issued for the entire country as more heavy rain is on the way.
Met Eireann is warning that it will remain unsettled for much of this week with spells of heavy rain or showers, possibly causing further disruption.
The weather alert has been extended from now until 7pm on Wednesday.
Despite the bright start to the day, this afternoon will turn showery again in the north west.
Met Eireann forecasts: “Cloud will build during the afternoon and showery rain will spread gradually from the south towards evening.”
The Ulster forecast continues: “There will be showers or longer spells of rain at times on Tuesday with some heavy bursts expected. However, there will be dry and sunny periods also. Top temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees in fresh southeast winds.”
The remainder of the week will stay “rather unsettled with rain or showers on most days along with some sunny spells.”
