Warning for drivers as thunderstorm to strike parts of Donegal

Met Eireann has issued an immediate weather alert for thunderstorms in Donegal this afternoon.

A status yellow warning is in place until 9pm for Cavan, Donegal, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.

Forecasters say that local thunderstorms and lightning strikes will lead to poor driving conditions.
