Emma Doherty has been named in the Republic of Ireland Under-19 squad for two friendlies away to Portugal.
The Buncrana native will join up with Dave Connell’s squad for the two games at the Centro de Estágios do Luso on the 13th and 15th of September.
The Sligo striker has had a brilliant year so far, scoring 9 goals in 20 league games in her debut season in the Women’s National League.
Doherty also won Player of the Month for June/July.
The two games will help to start the preparations for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championship Qualifiers, which will see Ireland travel to Poland to take on the hosts as well as Northern Ireland and France.
