Swilly Rovers Football Club is holding a family fun day to celebrate the official reopening of the club’s newly refurbished main pitch at Swilly Park, Ramelton.
The fun day begins a 3pm on Saturday 10th September with the official opening ceremony taking place at 5:30 pm.
Over the last few years the club has worked hard to secure funding through Sports Ireland grants and
fundraising efforts to complete this work.
The new pitch has been finished to a very high standard and has facilitated the return to training and hosting of competitive matches for our underage and senior level teams over the summer months.
A spokesperson for the club said: “To celebrate the reopening of the pitch, we will hold a free family fun day at Swilly Park on Saturday 10th October. The festivities begin at about 3 pm with fun activities for children and adults.
“The official pitch reopening ceremony will take place at 5:30 pm when the ribbon will be cut by some of our most celebrated past senior players and some of our most recent young alumni currently playing professionally in the League of Ireland.
“The first official match on the new pitch will begin at 6:00 pm and promises to be an edge-of-the-seat experience for players and spectators.
“We hope you can join us to celebrate this latest milestone in the long history of the club and look forward to seeing you there.”
