Donegal County Council officials Collette Beattie and Joe Gallagher will officially open the new Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter office at No. 3 Church Lane on Culture Night.
On Friday 23 September at 7.30pm, people will get the opportunity to discover the story of the Cathedral Quarter and find out what goes on behind the scenes. The new office highlights the past, the cultural programme of events, and the achievements and plans for the future.
Collette Beattie, Conservation Officer and Joe Gallagher, Heritage Officer with Donegal County Council were instrumental in helping to deliver the award-winning Historic Towns Initiative for Letterkenny’s Church Lane.
It is the partnership between Community and Local Authority is the key to the area’s successful regeneration and is a model for other places in the country. Refreshments will be served at the opening but visiting the office will be limited to four people at a time. All are welcome.
Also on Culture Night is the return of the Cathedral Quarter Experience with the ‘Elusive Theatre’.
There will be two shows with one at 6pm and the other starting at 8pm
The Elusive Theatre will bring the history of the area to life with the ‘Cathedral Quarter Experience’ starting at 6:00pm outside No. 1 Church Lane. Go walking with Letterkenny Legends as the Elusive Theatre brings you on a tour that is short in distance but rich and deep in history.
Meet characters from the past and learn about events that have helped to shape our present. Tours run at 6pm and 8pm. Pre-booking is essential by contacting Donnan Harvey on 086 345 2457.
