The Government has approved an increase of the minimum wage by 80c to €11.30 per hour.

The current minimum wage is €10.50 per hour for anyone aged 20 or over.

The new rate is expected to be in place by January, following the approval of the 2023 Budget.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar announced today that the wage is rising to keep pace with inflation.

The Low Pay Commission calculates the national living wage as €13.10 for 2023. Speaking today, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said the government expects to meet the living wage by 2026.
