A new TV series for Hulu and RTE is to be shot in Bundoran and Ballyshannon this winter.

Plans have been unveiled for the Magamedia production, entitled ‘Obituary’, which is supported by the Donegal Film Office.

A crew call has been issued for local workers to get involved.

Producers are searching for crew with some experience in film and television production and new entrants who live within a 45km radius of the production office in Bundoran. If you’ve wanted to get your foot in the door of the industry, this may be a good opportunity, as “some prior experience as a trainee is beneficial but not necessary”.

Preparation for ‘Obituary’ will begin in November 2022, with shooting to run from January to March 2023.

Welcoming the news Aideen Doherty Film Office said that “this is the 3rd call out for crew this year in the county. The film office is determined to create sustained employment for local crew and is working closely with relevant partners to ensure that productions continue to see Donegal as a place to shoot. This production based in Donegal will provide opportunities for employment, services, accommodation etc during the winter months and will showcase the county internationally.”

The crew call confirmed that these are paid positions.

Applicants must be over 18 and proof of address will be required.  Own transport is essential.

“We are interested in seeing applications from a diverse range of applicants of all ages and backgrounds.”

“If you are interested, please email obituaryprod@gmail.com with a copy of  your CV and cover letter before September 20th, 2022.”
