Two road closures planned for Glenties/Ardara area

Donegal County Council has announced plans for two road closures in Glenties and in Ardara this coming week.

The Portnoo Road in Ardara will be closed from Monday 19th September to Wednesday 21st September for bridge replacement works. This road, the R261 will be closed from the junction of the N56 to the junction of the L2563 (Maas Road), Ardara.

Traffic at Ardara will be diverted via N56 — Glenties — N56 — Maas — R261 – Tullycleave More. Traffic at Tullycleave More will be diverted via R261 — Maas — N56 – Glenties — N56 — Ardara.

In Glenties, the R250 from the junction of R252 to junction of N56 will be closed from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th September 2022.

Traffic at Fintown will be diverted via Doochary (R252) — R252 / N56 Junction at Croaghnashallog — Lettermacaward (N56) — Glenties (N56). Traffic at Glenties will be diverted via Lettermacaward (N56) – R252 / N56 Junction at Croaghnashallog — Doochary (R252) — Fintown (R252).
