A litter fine is being issued after another case of illegal dumping in the Killyclug woods outside Letterkenny.

This week, the Donegal County Council litter team confirmed that they have identified a responsible party after a recent investigation.

The team was asked to examine unauthorised activity in the Killyclug area following a request from Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh. A recent visit uncovered additional litter and evidence of those responsible was found, the local authority confirmed.

“As a result of this investigation, the Environment team is in the process of issuing a litter fine to the responsible party,” a spokesperson said.

“Donegal County Council is fully committed to thoroughly investigating all reports of such activity received. The Council would like to thank members of the public who report illegal dumping and encourage any member of the public who comes across such activity to contact Donegal County Council on 074 9153900 or info@donegalcoco.ie with the precise location.”
