A Donegal charity has issued a warning to cat owners after the unexplained death of two pets in one area.
Two cats were found dead in Newtowncunningham last week. They were found with no marks on them and they were not near any roads.
As fear grows around suspecting poisoning, Animals In Need Donegal is advising pet owners to take extreme care.
“Owner is worried someone has put out poison, possibly for rodents but the cats get poisoned when they eat rodents that have ingested the poison,” the charity warned.
“Please consider keeping your cats inside and don’t let your dogs roam.”
