Communities across the north west, and the world, will unite in mourning at a number of vigils this week.
Local GAA clubs and town centres are to host candlelight vigils for people to gather in support and solidarity following Friday’s tragic explosion in Creeslough.
Vigils will take place this Saturday night and Sunday evening in Donegal and parts of Tyrone.
“We are all feeling utterly helpless and devastated at this awful tragedy,” said Councillor Gary Doherty, who organised a vigil in his home village of Castlefinn.
“I keep thinking about what we could be doing to help and I know everyone else is the same.
“The only thing I can think of is to hold a candlelight vigil in my home village of Castlefin to allow people to come together and remember the victims and their loved ones.”
