FOUR more people have been confirmed dead in the Creeslough tragedy.

The number of those who perished at the Applegreen Service Station has already risen to SEVEN.

Gardai have now confirmed they are undertaking a “search and recovery” operation.

Eight persons were transferred to hospital for medical attention yesterday.

It is now anticipated that further fatalities will be announced throughout the day.

Diggers are still working away on the building which collapsed just after 3.15pm yesterday.

Specialist equipment is being used to gently pick away at the debris.

Members of the Coastguard, the Gardai and ambulance services remain at the scene.

Some locals are watching in silence at the scene.

No spokesperson is available for Emergency Services is available at this time.

An Garda Síochána continue to request that any road users intending to travel to the Creeslough area for any reason consider alternative routes as Emergency Services continue to deal with this ongoing incident. Traffic diversions remain in place at this time.
