Ten red candles have been lit in St Michael’s Church in Creeslough to remember the ten lives lost in Friday’s tragedy.

The ten candles were lit as hundreds of people gathered last night for a Service of Remembrance in the church.

Among those who attended the service were An Taoiseach Micheal Martin, the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar and Sinn Fein’s Mary Lou McDonald.

Local priest Fr John Joe Duffy said the lights will remain on and the candles lit in the church to remember all those lost and affected by the tragedy.

Masses at 9am and 11am will again be offered in memory of all those lost and injured in the tragedy at the Applegreen Service Station.
