Funeral details have been confirmed for Martin McGill, who tragically lost his life in the Creeslough incident on Friday.
Martin, aged 49, was an avid Celtic fan and a devoted son.
Originally from Scotland, Martin had moved to Donegal to care for his elderly mother. He was well-known in the community and local pharmacist Fergus Brennan recalled Martin visiting Brennan’s pharmacy regular as he cared for his parents.
It is understood that Martin had visited the Applegreen store to withdraw cash from an ATM when the tragic events occurred.
His obituary notice reads:
The tragic death has occurred, in Creeslough, of Martin McGill. Sadly missed by his mother Mary, sisters Marie Louise and Caroline, brothers in law, Mathew and Iain, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his father Joseph.
His remains will be reposing at his mother’s residence at 3 St. Michael’s Terrace, Creeslough from 11.00 a.m. Monday, 10th October 2022; Family time please from 10 p.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 11th October at 2 p.m. in St Michael’s Church, Creeslough with burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.
