The Coffee Pod in Creeslough is giving back to the local community once more through a kind donation of essential foods.
The cafe, normally a meeting place for holidaymakers and locals, quickly turned into a hub of warmth and nourishment for rescue workers since Friday’s disaster.
The cafe, which sits just yards from Applegreen, teamed up with the Huckleberry coffee shop to provide free refreshments to anyone who came to the door over the past three days.
In turn, the Coffee Pod received immense support and donations from other local businesses, so much so that they have decided to pay it forward.
Siobhan Carr and her team last night donated their leftover stock to the people of Creeslough. Boxes of essential groceries such as bread, milk, water and fruit have been left at the back of St. Michael’s Church for anyone to collect free of charge.
“We would like to sincerely thank everyone for all their help and donations throughout the weekend,” Siobhan said.
As the people of Creeslough live through a time of nightmare loss, and also the loss of their local food shop, the gesture is a touch of kindness that will be greatly appreciated in the difficult days ahead.
