A ‘Creeslough Tragedy Response Coordination’ page has been set up online to share news about offers of assistance for the village community.
There has been a massive outpouring of support for the community after the tragic explosion on Friday afternoon.
Many local businesses have been inundated with calls and messages from kind-hearted helpers, so it has been decided to collate all offers of assistance into one place.
The page is available to follow on Facebook here: Creeslough Tragedy Response Coordination
The Facebook page admins said: “This page has been created in order to try and link those needing practial assistance with those who are offering it.
“We have been offered help from hotel providers, property managers and transport. However, there is no common contact in order to connect these offers to those needing them and vice versa.”
The page is NOT a place to offer financial donations, but anyone wishing to help in this way is asked to donate to the Irish Red Cross Appeal (here) or via Gerard McFadden’s GoFundMe (here).
Anyone who would like to offer any practical assistance to the village community can message the page at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086451980081
The admins said: “Finally, a huge word of thanks to our local businesses who have been a credit to the community since last Friday. This, however, could not have been realised without the assistance of our neighbouring communities and businesses. This has not gone unnoticed and is appreciated by everyone in Creeslough and the surrounding areas.”
