Tributes have been paid to a wonderful mother and a dedicated friend, Martina Martin (née Russell).

Funeral Mass for Martina (Tina) will take place in St Michael’s Church, Creeslough on Thursday 13th October at 11am.

Martina was working in the Applegreen service station shop when the tragedy occurred on Friday.

The Mulroy College community and many local sports clubs have joined with Martina’s family in mourning.

A tribute from the Glenree Academy football club in Carrigart said: “Tina was one of our soccer mums who had no real interest in the game but if her children were playing there wasn’t many games she missed. She was exceptionally proud of each of them.”

Martina’s children are all either current or former players with Glenree.

“She always had a smile on her face and no matter where the game was, the wee grey Hyundai with Tina and player in toe was usually at the pitch before the coaches got there.

“Tina will be remembered fondly by coaches, players and parents who knew her.

“There are no words at this moment to express the deep sorrow we have at Tina’s children’s loss.

“Rest in Peace Tina

“We also remember the other 9 victims in this tragedy. May they Rest in Peace.”
