Letterkenny Hospital to light up for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

As the nights grow darker, bright lights will shine from Letterkenny University Hospital this Saturday for Baby Loss Awareness.

The hospital is set to join a global ‘wave of light’ in honour of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance day this Saturday 15th October.

More than 100 buildings across Ireland will light up this Saturday to mark the closing of the commemorative week.

In recent years, the pink and blue lights on the LUH building have brought solace to bereaved parents, families and friends to commemorate all babies who sadly died too soon through miscarriage, stillbirth or in the neonatal period.

The display is part of a global event, to let families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or a baby know that they are not alone.

If you have been affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy, support is available from Féileacáin – The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland – www.feileacain.ie
