Community Notes – Dunkineely/Bruckless/Killaghtee

The weekly Dunkineely/Bruckless/Killaghtee notes have been released.

Halloween Disco

Naomh Ultan present a family Halloween Disco on 30th October at the Bruckless Community and Sports Centre.

5:30 to 7:30pm, with DJ Joe Conneely. Fancy dress optional!

€3 per child (under 13) and family rates available. Fancy dress is optional and on the night and there will be a tuck shop and a raffle.

New Bus

To meet the fast growing demand on our local bus service, we are pleased to announce new bigger buses operating on the 293 route from Donegal Town to Glencolmcille.

There should be no disruption to current timetables, schedules and fares. 

We would like to sincerely thank the Curran family and their excellent drivers for operating this service for Local Link.

Craft Fair

Calling all creative crafters!

Come along to the Killaghtee Church Hall on 26th November and join in a local craft fair.

Running from 11am to 4pm, tables cost €10.

Church Services

Church of Ireland: Normal services in Killaghtee and Inver area.

Killaghtee Church has a new Facebook page, “St Peter’s Church of Ireland Killaghtee”. It will hold all the very latest parish news.

Confirmation for 6th class and above is planned for next April/May. To express an interest, please e-mail archdeacon@raphoe.anglican.org.

Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in Ardara. 

Catholic Church: Mass will be held at the normal times. Mass can also be viewed on the “Bruckless Church – St Joseph and St Conal” Facebook page. 

Eucharistic Adoration is on Friday from 11am to 3pm, and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm.

Confession can be heard before weekend Masses or arrange a time by contacting Fr Brady at the Parochial House (074 973 7015).

Teresa Ellison

The death has occurred of Teresa Ellison Ballycrowey, St. John’s Point, Dunkineely, Donegal. 

Peacefully, at the Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Bruckless. Sadly missed by her brother Packie (Dunkineely), sister Delia (Australia), all her nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass was on Monday at The Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Dunkineely Celtic FC

Matches: Dunkineely Celtic lost to Lifford Celtic 14-0.

There is a bit of a break now, with the next match at home to Whitestrand United on 6th November at 1pm. 

Naomh Ultan

Senior Reserves: The rescheduled Reserve Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Junior B Championship Final took place on 16th October at 1:30pm.

The Naomh Ultan Senior Reserve team came away cup winners in a 3-6 to 0-12 win over Letterkenny Gaels.

Darragh Murrin was voted man of the match as he scored 1-5, while Nesbitt scored the other 2-1 for the Dunkineely men, with Murrin at the fore for the first Nesbitt goal.

Well done to Captain Adrian Nesbitt and his team, coaches and everyone at Naomh Ultan. 

It was great to feel the excitement around Dunkineely over the last two weeks!

Development Draw: The Week Development Draw has started.

The 2nd round of our 5 Week Development Draw 2022 took place this evening, Friday, October 14th. Congratulations to our three prize winners –

There are three weekly draws left, for prizes of €300, €200 or €100. The entry fee is €10 per week.

There will be a bonus draw for fully paid members by 21st October for two €100 meal vouchers.

Royal Flush Lotto: Lotto results for 09/10/2022 were 5, 11, 13, 23. 

There was no winner of the jackpot, consolation prizes went to Shane McWhinnie, Corey Boyle and Cait Lyons.

If there was no winner, next week’s jackpot will stand at €1,160. Make sure not to miss out by entering via www.naomhultan.com, the club app or local shops.
