A driver was caught speeding while under the influence of cocaine and alcohol outside Letterkenny last night.

Gardaí from Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they detected a car speeding through an area where roadworks are ongoing in Letterkenny.

When stopped, the driver failed the roadside test for alcohol and also tested positive for cocaine.

“An arrest was made and proceedings have commenced,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Never ever drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Slow down.”
