A free information evening for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) will take place on Thursday evening.
The event, which is also for patients’ families and carers, will be held from 7pm to 8pm in the Radisson Hotel, Letterkenny.
The evening is being organised by staff from the Gastroenterology Department at Letterkenny University Hospital.
“There are approximately 60,000 people diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Ireland and around 2,000 of these patients live in County Donegal,” said Cathy Walsh, Advanced Nurse Practitioner at LUH.
“The information evening is an opportunity for patients in Donegal with IBD to learn more about their disease, treatments and get advice on living with the disease.”
On the evening, Ms Walsh will be joined by colleagues Dr Vikrant Parihar, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Pharmacist Lisa Harney.
“We want the evening to be informal and relaxed, away from the stresses that may be associated with a hospital appointment. Patients can drop in at any time and bring a friend, family member or carer for company and to also learn more about the disease.”
