Met Eireann has issued a thunderstorm alert for Donegal tonight as lighting and heavy rain strikes the country.
A status yellow warning is in place for Donegal from 8pm Wednesday until 1am Thursday morning.
There is a risk of thunderstorms in places with lightning and some disruption possible.
Associated heavy rainfall may lead to localised flooding, forecasters warn.
Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford are expected to experience the worse of the stormy weather. A status orange warning is in place for the four counties until 11pm.
