It’s a red letter day for sport in Donegal today as the official opening takes place of the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy this afternoon.

The event begins at noon and will involve all the 40 clubs from across the county.

GAA President Larry McCarthy will perform the official opening along with Minister for Sport Jack Chambers and Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin.

The centre includes five pitches, changing rooms, a state-of-the-art gym and officers with work commencing in 2008.

It is estimated the project has cost in excess of €6 million.
