Ards Forest Park is to remain closed today and possibly tomorrow (Friday) for road resurfacing works.
The timing of the closure has come as a disappointment to families seeking to enjoy the park during the school holidays.
The Coillte-owned park is especially popular among visitors at this time of year due to the picturesque changing of the colours of the leaves.
A notice from the Ards Coffee Tree cafe apologised to customers for the closure which began yesterday, saying: “We only found out last night (Monday), sorry for any inconvenience caused to your mid term plans but we will be unable to open.
“We will update you all on the progress. See you on Friday/weekend.”
