Donegal has the darkest location when it comes to hours of sunshine.

The latest figures show that Malin Head was one of the darkest places in the country with just 117 hours of sunshine per month

Belmullet, Co. Mayo was the second darkest location with 122.4 hours, followed by Gurteen, Co. Sligo with 131.5 sunshine hours per month.

Meanwhile, the ‘sunny southeast’ is certainly living up to its reputation with Johnstown in Co Wexford having the highest average amount of sunshine, with 162.8 hours per month.

Casement Aerodrome in Co. Dublin recorded up 151.5 hours a month, while Cork Airport recorded an average of 144.8 hours.
