Still time to have say on Donegal speed limit review – Council

Members of the public have another couple of weeks to have their say on Donegal County Council’s speed limit review.

Scores of people attended drop-in events at each Municipal District office over the past month.

Events were held to gather public feedback on speed limits throughout the county and collect submissions from members of the public on specific locations where they felt the existing speed limits should be reviewed against the Department of Transport Guidelines.

Submissions can still be made via email at speedlimitreview@donegalcoco.ie or in writing to the address below.  The closing date for new submissions is 2pm on 25th of November 2022.

A statutory public consultation period will follow in 2023, during which members of the public will be given the opportunity to view proposed changes to the Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws.

This statutory consultation will be widely advertised and proposed changes to the Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws for Donegal will be on display at Local Authority Offices, on the Local Authority Website and at www.speedlimits.ie

For more information on the Speed Limit Review contact the Council on:

speedlimitreview@donegalcoco.ie  or write to:

Speed Limit Survey, Road Design Office, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford.
