Telecoms provider, eir, has apologised after a major outage left customers in Donegal without coverage since yesterday.
The incident affected hundreds of Donegal subscribers, mainly in the south and south west of the county.
Hundreds more were left without coverage in parts of Sligo and Leitrim
“The fault in Sligo resulted in loss of service for broadband and voice customers in the North West of the country,” an eir spokesperson told Donegal Daily.
Work was carried out overnight to restore service for customers.
“Broadband service was restored last night and work is on-going to restore all landline services. “:The current expected time for restoration is a few hours. Repair works are being treated as an urgent priority and we apologise for the inconvenience to customers,” they added.
