A prayer service and reflection was held at Milford Public Service Centre to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims last night.
The event was held for families and friends of those who died or were injured in road collisions on Donegal’s roads.
Brian O’Donnell, Donegal County Council Road Safety Officer said Remembrance Day is an opportunity for people to think about their own responsibilities on the road.
A total of seven people have been killed so far on Donegal’s roads this year.
Mr O’Donnell said “Everyone who uses the road needs to ensure that when you get behind the wheel of a car that you respect yourself, respect your passengers in the car and every other road user who uses the road.
“At this time of year it is even more important to ensure that everyone stays safe on our roads. Too many families have lost loved ones and we all need to focus on driving and prevent further tragedies.”
