Church committees in Donegal are being advised to review security systems after another break-in at a local chapel.
The Fahan Chapel of Ease was targetted last weekend, one week after a burglary at St Baithin’s church in St Johnston.
Gardaí issued details of the burglary in Fahan today, saying that entry was gained through the front door of the church which was open, but the lock of an internal door was forced open. It’s not believed that anything was stolen.
The incident occurred between 10pm on Friday 18th November and 6pm Sunday 20th November.
It follows a break-in at St Baithin’s church in St Johnston on Friday 11th November, when a sum of money was taken from the sacristy.
Garda Grainne Doherty, speaking during this week’s garda community appeals, advised church committees in the county to review their security measures.
