Two West Donegal GAA clubs are to receive Government cash windfalls to help prepare their grounds for Comortas Peil na Gaeltachta in 2023.

Minister for the Gaeltacht and Sport Jack Chambers TD confirmed he has approved grants for Rosses GAA clubs Naomh Muire and Na Rossa.

Naomh Muire will receive a grant of €128,207 towards the provision of a Stand and Score Board at their grounds.

Na Rossa will receive a grant of €36,015 towards professional fees to progress the development of a club house and dressing rooms at their newly constructed pitch at Medavagh, Lettermacaward.

Comortas Peil na Gaeltachta 2023 will be held in Mullaghderg, Kincasslagh.

Local county councillor Noreen Mc Garvey welcomed the grants.

She said “I want to thank Minister Chambers for his commitment to the development of sports facilities in my electoral area and for his frequent visits to West Donegal.

“I fully appreciate the great work the clubs are doing to ensure that the youth have state of the art facilities.”
