There has been a call for urgent works as residents of Rossbracken near Manorcunningham face another day without water supply.
There have been persistent issues in the area caused by burst pipes over the past year.
While Irish Water is expected to get supply restored later today, Letterkenny-Milford Mayor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly is seeking a permanent solution.
“This has been going on too long. The pipes need replacing as a matter of urgency,” Cllr Kelly said.
“Last Christmas those residents were without water on Christmas Day and now they are going through the same rigmarole. I am not willing to stand back and let that happen again.
“I have made representation to Irish Water this morning and they have assured me that the problem will be sorted today. But we need them to commit to replacing the pipes.
“I am now asking for an immediate response and a commitment that the necessary work will be done.”
