Letterkenny’s longest-established opticians is marking one year back in business this month, after reopening under the management of Inish Eyecare Opticians in 2021.

To celebrate their birthday, Louis Walsh Opticians are offering free eye tests for the remainder of 2022, just call in and mention Donegal Daily for the free service from now until Christmas.

Since the doors reopened at Mount Southwell Place, the team has enjoyed phenomenal support from all old and new customers alike. They offer Eye Sight Tests, Contact Lens Trials, Drivers Licence Application Reports and pre & post Cataract Consultations. They also carry a wide range of frames to suit all styles and budgets. Medical card, PRSI and Private patients are welcome.

Practice Manager Damien said: “We are delighted to see all the familiar faces returning again and again but also we’re delighted with how many new faces we are seeing coming through the doors. And indeed we are now seeing the next generation of families who have been coming to Louis Walsh Opticians for decades coming to see us now as well.”

Building on the tradition of quality eye care, the company has invested in lots of new equipment and technology over the course of the last year, namely the addition of the new OCT 3D Eye Scan Camera. This fantastic piece of equipment allows the Optician to digitally scan the back of the eye in a matter of a few seconds. The OCT allows the Optician to determine the health of the eye and can detect the early onset of many conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. The scan is as simple as having your picture taken.

The Opticians has gone from strength to strength with the continued focus on customer service, technology and quality care.

“At Louis Walsh Opticians Letterkenny we pride ourselves on customer service. The customer always comes first. That’s always been the motto here at Louis Walsh Opticians, so why not give us a try and see for yourself?,” Damien said.

“As we celebrate the first anniversary of the re-opening of Louis Walsh Opticians we’d like to thank each and everyone of our patients who came to us during the year and made this such a special year. We’d also like to thank our staff, who are the ones who make this business the success that it is. We’d like to thank Aisling, Philip, John, Ann, Mairead, Stephanie, Anne, Amy and Kellyann for their hard work and exemplary customer service. We’d also like to say a massive thank you to the man himself – Louis Walsh who calls in regularly to make sure we’re looking after his customers and offer us his continued support and advice.

“There are exciting times ahead for Louis Walsh Opticians as we near completion of our new Letterkenny store and we will be making a big announcement soon.”
