The return of cattle after 25 years to Tory Island will be featured in this Thursday’s episode of Ear to the Ground.
It’s been 25 years since a cow was seen on Tory, but in July, as part of the Corncrake LIFE Project, 6 young
Galloway Heifers made the 9 mile trip from the mainland across to the island to their new home.
Ella Mc Sweeney made that journey with them from Seanie Boyle’s farm where they were raised, onto the ferry and across the sea to Tory, where they were warmly welcomed by the locals with music and singing.
Ear to the Ground is in its 30th season and the fifth episode of the series, featuring Tory Island, will be premiered on Thursday (8th December) at 7pm on RTÉ One.
