A local county councillor has encouraged the use of Garda motorbike patrols in Letterkenny to help the traffic flow in the town.

Councillor Michael McBride told the latest meeting of the Joint Policing Committee he was encouraged to see Gardai on motorbikes in the town especially in the run-up to Christmas.

Traffic flow has been an issue in the county’s biggest town with traffic build-ups again anticipated in the coming weeks.

Councillor McBride said it was “fantastic” to see the Garda motorbike patrols in the town and he was delighted to see the resources being put in on the ground.
