Article contributed by Loreto Letterkenny students Ellen Griffin and Caoilfhionn Lafferty

This year on the 6th of December 2022 Loreto Secondary School Letterkenny, Co. Donegal hosted their annual Christmas trade fair.

There were hampers, raffles, baked goods, handmade sustainable Christmas decorations and gifts galore for sale. The Christmas atmosphere was electric with elves and Christmas jumpers to be seen in every corner of the fair. Christmas music was blasting throughout the day, lifting the spirits of those in attendance.

Every student in Loreto was in attendance as well as 6th class students from Scoil Colmcille, Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Gaelscoil Adhamháin.

This amazing event was organised by our outstanding Christmas Trade Fair committee which is completely run by 8 Transition Year students.

The public were welcomed between the hours of 9am and 2pm and there was an amazing turnout from them.

Many thanks to all the students involved today, from 2nd year, Transition Year TY photographers who captured this day to be saved for the future and to our 5th year LCA students who painted faces and spread Christmas cheer.

We would also like to thank Ms. Mairead Boyle, our TY coordinator and to the fantastic judges.
